Figure drawing is an essential skill for artists, helping to refine observational abilities and enhance understanding of the human form. My Figure Drawing Classes in Vancouver provide a practical, hands-on experience for all skill levels. You can join as a complete beginner or as an intermediate/experienced artist looking to enhance your skills.
Every class we learn a new topic. My syllabus is created to cover all the necessary topics for 8 cohesive months.
After the first class, you’ll be a lot more comfortable with drawing. After 6 classes, you’ll see an improvement in your drawing skills.

Art supplies of your choice. The best option for the first lesson would be graphite pencils (HB and 6B) + eraser + sketchbook (drawing area is around letter size). Instead, you can bring an iPad, watercolours, fineliners or a gel pen.
Weather-appropriate clothes for outside locations (for midseason wear +1 layer warmer than you think; for summer take a hat and water)
Something to sit on (a folding chair or a foam pad would be great)
For summer sessions we meet on the lawn of Coal Harbour Seaside Park* (50 m from the spray park to the side of Stanley Park). MAKE SURE TO DOUBLE-CHECK THE MEETING POINT THE NIGHT BEFORE EACH CLASS, as it could be changed if rainy/wet. SUBSCRIBE to get email notifications: aniasalmina-newsletter.beehiiv.com
Classes run year-round. In good weather, we meet outdoors. On fall-winter, we are meeting indoors.
